Pryor Marking Technology exhibited at Offshore Europe 2015 to launch a new product designed specifically for applications within the oil and gas industry. The event took place in Aberdeen from the 8th – 11th September.
Pryor had been receiving many enquiries about how to create deep marks on parts so that the mark:
- Would remain visible and legible after painting or coating,
- Would be legible on rough and uneven surfaces, or
- Could endure weathering conditions.
Pryor’s new product, the PortaDot Deep Pneumatic, is a lightweight, hand held deep marking machine. This portable device enables the user to create deep, legible and long lasting marks on heavy, large or immobile parts. This is a common requirement for on-site, maintenance and inspection marking within the oil and gas industry.
The PortaDot Deep Pneumatic was launched at Offshore Europe 2015 as the lightest pneumatic marking machine on the market. The show was attended by almost 60,000 visitors and had the second highest attendance in the show’s history. Visitors attended from over 100 countries, travelling to learn about the latest developments for the industry.
Alastair Morris, Sales Director at Pryor, said “Many people visited Pryor’s stand requiring a marking machine to mark a point of inspection and testing. Marking the point that the test took place ensures that subsequent tests are carried out at the same point. The PortaDot Deep Pneumatic is an ideal solution for this application because it can be taken to site and because it creates deep marks that are legible on rough surfaces and endure weathering conditions.” Alternatively, Pryor is able to develop bespoke marking and traceability solutions.
Overall, the show was a great success, with lots of interest in Pryor’s new developments for the industry. Pryor is currently looking into exhibiting again in 2017.
