Pete started working for Pryor at 17 years old, straight from school in 1972. He began his career in the stock records department managing steel requisitions, in the days before computers were a feature of the workplace.
During 1976, Pete moved into Production Control then in 1983 he was offered a position with Pryor subsidiary, John H. Elliott based in the Hillsborough Barracks. Here, Pete supervised the day to day running of the company, overseeing most business functions including sales, purchasing, accounts, credit control, export and during holidays, would help with packing. In 2000, when John H. Elliott was closed and the business transferred to Pryor, Pete was responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of the business and its customers. Since that time, Pete has worked within the Machinery Sales team at Pryor, sharing his wealth of technical knowledge with colleagues.
“Over the years, I have worked with a lot of nice people and made some very good friends. I have many fond memories of Pryor’s – especially the golf society when we have had some memorable days out and never stopped laughing. I had planned to spend some time travelling during my retirement, especially to Australia, but this will have to be put on hold for a while. So instead, I will play golf and I love gardening and enjoy walking with my wife, so I’m sure we will fill our time in!”
Pete will be very much missed at Pryor. We all wish him well during his retirement and look forward to a proper celebration with Pete, as soon as circumstances allow.
All the best Pete, from everyone at Pryor
